Eye Exams, Complete & Comprehensive:

Dr. Kracher not only gets you seeing your best, but by completely evaluating the health of your eyes he advises how to keep you seeing your best.

Some of the features included in an eye exam by Dr. Kracher are as follows:

Featuring:

  • Refraction and retinoscopy to determine your best prescription for lenses.
  • Tonometry where your intraocular pressure is measured and recorded. This is particularly important to patients with glaucoma or a family history of glaucoma.
  • Dilated fundus exam where Dr. Kracher examines the health of your retinas, optic nerves and blood vessels a procedure particularly important to patients with diabetes, glaucoma or advanced nearsightedness.
  • Corneal exam including keratometry where Dr. Kracher assesses the integrity of your corneas and their curvatures. This procedure is particularly important to patients with corneal conditions such as keratoconus, endothelial corneal dystrophy, as well as, patients considering laser refractive surgery.
  • Slit lamp exam is a thorough examination of the anterior segment of your eyes under a microscope. This includes your corneas, anterior chambers, and intraocular lenses particularly important to contact lens wearers, patients with cataracts and laser surgery patients.

Contact Lens Evaluation and Fittings:

In his Frederick office, Dr. Kracher provides complete highly skilled contact lens evaluations and fittings of all types.

His 20+ years experience at the Wilmer Eye Institute where he holds the title of Director of the Contact Lens Service has given Dr. Kracher the experience and knowledge to handle even the most difficult cases. This includes corneal irregularities caused by trauma, surgery or genetic eye diseases such as keratoconus.

Laser Vision Correction:

With over 20 years experience at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, Dr. Kracher has worked with pioneers in the research and development of laser vision correction from its beginning.

Now, at his Frederick office, Dr. Kracher consults, evaluates and co-manages laser refractive surgery patients with only the most experienced, highly skilled surgeons in the field who use only the most sophisticated laser surgical equipment.
